As we approach the month of May and hopefully warmer weather, we change our window display to the birthstone Emerald
The colour green has long symbolized love and rebirth, as the gem of Venus, it was also considered to aid in fertility.
Cleopatra, was famous for wearing Emeralds in her time. Ancient Egyptian mummies were often buried with an Emerald on their necks to symbolize eternal youth.
The deeper and more vivid the color of green, the more valuable the gemstone. Emeralds, among the rarest of gems, are almost always found with inclusions however, some inclusions are expected and do not detract from the value of the stone as much as with other gemstones.
We have many more items in store including new arrivals from Kit Heath and Skagen! We are also adding to the website over the next few weeks so "stop by and say Hi!
